93

We decided to have Noah tested for the kindergarten "Highly Capable" program (his teacher actually suggested it, too).  Although he did not meet the cut off (98th percentile), he sure came close!  93rd percentile is pretty amazing is pretty amazing!!

To the parents of: Carlin, Noah
Current Grade: Kindergarten
Application ID: 9131

We have completed a review of your child’s CogAT assessment results for the Kindergarten-1st Grade Highly Capable (K-1HC) program. Students are expected to score at the 98th Age Percentile Rank or higher to be eligible for the second round of testing.  Noah’s CogAT Age Percentile Rank is 93. Based on this review, Noah does not meet the assessment criteria for the K-1HC program.
If you feel that this information is incorrect, you may consider an appeal.  Appeals for reconsideration of students who have not met the assessment criteria are reviewed by an appeal review team.  Appeals must be based upon a specific criteria related to the testing conditions, or to a misapplication or miscalculation of the scores. The decision of the appeal review team is final and may not be challenged. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Accelerated Programs Office (email is acceptable) and must be received by the Accelerated Programs Office by 4:00 p.m. on December 10, 2015.  See contact information below.
For this school year we encourage you to work closely with your child’s classroom teachers to ensure that your child’s academic needs are being appropriately met in the classroom. Thank you very much for your interest in the K-1HC program.
Sincerely,
Dan Phelan
Director of Accelerated Programs and CTE
