At Hailey's birthday party last weekend, at the end of the party Hailey was asked the following questions. Party-goers had an opportunity to fill out what they thought Hailey might answer before her "interview". Super cute!

We have to wait until early July for stats since her doc apt is late –
but according to our scale she weighs 26.6 pounds and is 2’ 10” (34”) tall. (Noah
weighed 26.8 pounds and was
33 inches tall at her age.)
Hailey has amazing gross motor skills. She has been able to climb the rock sculpture
thing on our playground for months and jumps from quite a height (although she
does demand “hand” to give it a go). She
hiked 2 miles almost all by herself (I carried her only a little big up the big
hill) at OO Denny Park a month or so ago.
She has been going up and down stairs all by herself for months as
well. She loves to imitate all things,
even when I do yoga and stretches, although she doesn’t always get her body
positions quite right. Much like Noah at
this age, she loves to run around in circles!
She likes to kick a soccer ball and throw, but she has no idea how to catch. When she was in gymnastics, we were told she
was advanced for her age. She really
amazes us with her skills.
Hailey likes to hold up a phone and talk, she likes to put
her toys down for a nap, she likes to play with anything Noah plays with (and
he is the same with her, really), so she likes cars more than dolls. She loves Don’t Break The Ice! She often picks puzzles to play with when I ask
her what she wants to do. She does inset
puzzles and her favorite song just might be the ABCs, although she still needs
me to sing along with her to get it all right.
She also can sing along with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but her
pronunciations aren’t quite there yet. And
for a while she was belting out lyrics to Frozen’s Let It Go, although I needed
Noah to help translate, as I had no idea what she was saying. She likes to count, but she doesn’t always
start at 1. She can imitate lines and
circular scribbles and mostly uses her right, but sometimes her left too. She loves to sit down and read books and even
insists “I read” if I try to hold the book and read it to her sometimes. If she lets me read it, she will try to
repeat what I said like she is reading it.
She is starting to count with one to one correspondence. When you ask
her what color something is, the answer is almost always green. And when you ask her how old she is, the
answer is almost always 6, and she knows she’s being funny!
Hailey will eat almost anything, although she can be finicky
with vegetables. She loves her pasta and
bread, like the rest of her family. She
drinks a good amount of milk and is learning to drink from a cup with two hands
without spilling. We had mac and cheese
on her birthday as that seems to be her top favorite! She is currently cutting 2 lower molars, poor
thing. She chews her finger nails, darn it, but she doesn’t suck on her
fingers, although she does still use a paci to go to bed. She showed interest in potty for a bit and is
no longer interested.
Hailey has little brief moments of tantruminess, but these
moments are short lived when you ask her to use her words. She and Noah play really well together and we
work hard and making sure they treat each other with respect. She is amazing at saying “Thank you, so and
so”. She always uses your name. So sweet.
She can play the hide the lady bug rocks and find the lady bug rocks
game now. She is patient and kind and
funny. If someone laughs, no matter the
reason, she laughs along! I see her
joining in with kids on the playground, imitating what they do and interacting
with them. And when she sees a kid 2 and
under, she calls them Baby and says Hi Baby.
She demands I hear her and see her and will yell MOMMY, and it’s the
sweetest thing. If she hears someone
crying she has to stare, making sure they are going to be okay. She likes to be tickled.
She Loves dogs and wants to pet them all, but knows not to
until given permission. She will say Hi
to every doggy she sees, near or far, and will say Hi to almost any person
(unless they have a dog, then the dog gets the Hi. When she sees a teddy bear or anything snuggly
she says “aww” and gives it a hug.
Hailey is a really sweet, tough little cookie with no fear. She is happy and beautiful and we just love
her soo much!
On 7/3/14 Hailey went to see the doc and she is doing great. Official stats:
27 lbs 13 ounces (75-90%)
33.4 inches (25-50%)
175 BMI (75-85%)
