no d.hippopotamusSweet little Hailey is already a whole year old. How did that happen? I really can't even believe it! We went in for her well check today and saw Doctor Howson. She weighed in at 20 pounds, 7 ounces (8 ounces of which is from a bottle she just had) which is the 25th to 50th percentile. She is 29.4 inches, which is the 50th to 75th percentile. Her head is 18.3 inches, which is the 75th to 90th percentile. Doc said Hailey's weight is actually higher then she expected considering usual trends for kids her age. She also said its time for no more formula and to go to milk (goal is 16 ounces a day). Hailey didn't want milk straight up though, so we are doing half and half until the formula is all gone. She warned us that milk is constipating, and since Hailey already has an issue with that we will need to give her lots of p-fruits and maybe even juice (4 ounces a day straight) before going to medication. Hopefully we can get it just right with her diet. She's not been a big water drinker, which is probably part of the problem! She's meeting all her developmental milestones. She got 3 vaccinations today and cried like it really hurt. :( But she still got over it pretty quick. Such a brave baby girl.
She likes to give things to you with a big smile... and will often take it back.
She responds to No quite well... unless its about climbing the stairs. She loves the stairs too much and will sneak over there any chance she gets!
She points to everything, which I will happily label, as she currently calls everything "da da". She is getting kinda good at pointing to noah or daddy when we ask "where's Noah, where's daddy?"
She still uses a pacifier to go to sleep and goes to bed around 730/8 PM. She wakes between 630 and 730 AM, rarely will she wake in the middle of the night. She still takes 2 naps a day, but they are quite variable - when home for the day she generally naps 10-12 and 3-4.
Hailey can blow kisses by bringing her hand to her mouth and pulling it away. She will give kisses by putting her face to you for a sec and pulling away with a "mwha".
Hailey is walking like a professional! It was such a quick transition from standing on her own to walking without even holding her arms up for balance - like a week or two. And now she is so excited that she can walk, she squeals with joy when ever she walks. And she wants to go fast!
She loves to dance! And she can keep a beat! Anytime she hears music, she will stop what she is doing to dance. It's awesome.
She has a gremlin voice and tries to say Noah with it.
She has an inquisitive Hm? sound she makes all the time. I especially love in the morning when she is just waking up she says "hm?" and looks at me with a big smile. She is a good morning person! :)
She likes to jump in her crib.
She still likes to say "dada" most, but she says mama too, and lots of other things that aren't entirely recognizable but clearly are her words for things.
She asks for more in sign, well an approximation, for now she claps. She also waves bye bye, I think to say all done.
She waves and says bye bye (ba ba)... which she did at the end of her party after her friends all left. So cute!
She will scribble when given a crayon before she puts it in her mouth.
She can climb up ont ot he coffee table, crawl across and turn around to get down the other side feet first!
She can climb up the slide.
She likes to put things into things.
She likes story time but doesn't have the attention span Noah did at her age. She would rather but up and moving!
She loves to put her arms in the air, in hopes to get you to do it too!
