I cannot believe Hailey is going to be one year old in just a month! That's so awesome and so sad at the same time. Time as flown by faster than I ever could have imagined. Wow! Well, we are having her birthday party on June 15th, in case anyone can make it. :)
Hailey can now push her Winnie the Pooh car around, while walking behind it (see video!). She cruises around stuff really well and likes to walk fast while holding your two hands. She has stood on her own for a brief period of time. She loves to jump in the crib while holding the railing, though I don't know if her feet leave the ground yet. She loves to dance whenever she hears music. And she tolerates Noah picking her up, pulling on her limbs, laying on her, etc. with a squeal of laughter! She will let him know when she has had enough. She can climb up (at least) 2 steps. Just yesterday Noah and Hailey were chasing each other around and laughing like crazy! Awesome!
Especially in the last week, Hailey is making all kinds of fun sounds like she is really trying to talk, with inflection and everything. She is so chatty! It is so cute! Da da is still her favorite thing to say, she calls me Da da, says Da da all the time (she does spend lots of time with Dada, so I think that makes sense). She will imitate out tone and sounds we make, and makes gremlin sounds a lot, he he he. Chris was saying he swears she was grunting "Noah" the other day. She will either stare or smile at a stranger who talks to her, she takes a while before she might wave to you. She understands No, No Touch, Come Here, and 123. She helps get dressed putting her arms and legs into the sleeves or holds them out or up in anticipation.
Hailey points to things now, she waves (although she can be quite stingy with her waves!) and she will imitate putting her hand to her mouth for a kiss and can imitate more, but its pretty rare. She will Put In things when asked and likes to show you her toys and will give them to you (and expect them to be returned quickly). She loves playing with Noah and his toys, which means she loves cars especially. Whenever Noah gets out something new to play with, she wants it too (and vice versa of course) - but Noah is getting really great with sharing with her and offering her toys and such. Hailey also likes to look through books on her own and is starting to point to pictures.
She has 5 teeth now and will eat pretty much whatever we eat (although how much she actually swallows is questionable) - we are staying away from nuts, honey, milk, strawberries and constipating foods mostly. She loves yogurt, sweet potato, cheerios, yogurt melts, and she'll eat her prunes and pears. She also eats all kinds of other things, but seems to especially like pot roast and ground hamburg.
She tolerated wearing a head band all throughout dinner out last night, for the first time.
This month we celebrated Chris' bday and Mother's Day.
We ran the Mother's Day 5K and the Green Lake Top Pot Donuts 5K .
We saw Caspar Babypants in concert and she loved it.
We went to the Tulip Festival.
We went to a friend's for a BBQ.
We went Camping at Steamboat Rock.
We went on two hikes and she was in the big back pack with Chris, and a little bit in the Ergo with me (when I got nervous and needed to have her close by for tricking hiking).
One more month to party time! Woohooo!
